Following the announcement of planned industrial action by the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) on Thursday 15th December and Tuesday 20th December, Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTMUHB) has been developing plans to maintain patient safety and care where possible.
CTMUHB is one of the Health Boards in Wales where RCN members have voted in favour of taking strike action. Our Health Board acknowledges the strength of feeling behind the overwhelming 'yes' vote and will work to ensure that the safety of our patients and colleagues remains paramount.
Planning is underway to manage the operational impact, support colleagues, and make decisions about how essential services can be maintained safely during this time. The priority for these plans will be to ensure patient safety and continuity of care, maintaining essential service delivery, and the safety of non-striking employees, service users, visitors and contractors.
We are working in close partnership with our Trade Union colleagues who play a key role as part of our planning and decision-making process.
All service details and updates will be published regularly on the dedicated area on this website.
Thank you for your understanding during this time.
