The review identified that mental health dementia services for older people are being delivered very differently across many parts of Wales and the UK, with different outcomes for people living with dementia.
Our older population is increasing and there will be a much greater demand for our mental health dementia services in the future. We want to ensure that people living with dementia, now and in the future, have access to the support they need, at the right time, and in the right place.
Today, a 10-week engagement period has started, where our communities are invited to share their views and feedback on how we deliver mental health dementia services in the future, and to specifically have their say on a proposed new model of care, known as a ‘Peripatetic Community Service’.

We have arranged a number of engagement meetings during the engagement period, involving service users, carers, relatives and partner organisations including local authorities and the voluntary and community sector.
