CTM UHB's 'Gift of Kindness' Festive Campaign

Gift of Kindness

This year, we’re highlighting the generosity of our communities and the many different ways to give back through local charities that support our health and wellbeing through our Gift of Kindness campaign.

CTM UHB is inviting health board staff, patients, and community members to embrace the spirit of giving and make a meaningful impact through local charity initiatives that support our health and wellbeing.

From putting pounds in a collection box, to volunteering your time or making a kind gesture, this campaign is built on the idea that there’s something for everyone who wants to spread joy and make a difference.

Our Cwm Taf Morgannwg NHS Charity, along with a network of local charity partners, will promote diverse initiatives to encourage everyone to get involved. By showcasing inspiring stories and celebrating generosity, we want to increase awareness of local opportunities and hopefully inspire even more support from the community.

Support for those affected by Storm Bert

The devastating flooding caused by Storm Bert has left many families and businesses across Rhondda Cynon Taf in need of urgent support.

Rest Centres have been set up for residents impacted by flooding at:

  • Pontypridd Library
  • Ystrad Sports Centre
  • Sobell Leisure Centre

The latest guidance for those affected in RCT is available via the Council’s social media channels: https://www.facebook.com/RCTCouncil

A directory of wellbeing support available to CTM UHB staff who may be impacted can be found here: Employee Wellbeing Service - Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board

Flood Relief Funds

The best way to support those affected locally is through the dedicated relief funds that have been set up on Go Fund Me.

Together with local politicians and RCT councillors, the Manon Trust is raising funds to provide swift, fair financial relief to those affected.

Every donation will directly support local residents and businesses, helping them rebuild their lives and homes. Your generosity will make a real difference to our resilient community.

Other ways to support

Many areas have been affected by flooding due to Storm Bert. If you are looking to volunteer to support impacted communities, please contact rcttogether@rctcbc.gov.uk

Many local and independent businesses will have been impacted the most. You may wish to consider making a purchase from one of these businesses either in person or online (if you have the ability to do so) as a way of showing support.

There are also supporting charities such as Citizens Advice Rhondda Cynon Taf and Pontypridd Foodbank that will be providing urgent support to those who have been impacted by local emergencies such as those caused by Storm Bert. You can also provide valuable support to these charities through donations or volunteering your time.
